Creative Cotswold: Meeting the Mayor
BUDDING journalists from The Cotswold School have been taking on the role of press.
Mayor Barbara Driver of Cheltenham agreed to an interview with the pupils.
The students took a tour through the council chambers and had a mock debate.
They asked her a whole range of questions, including why she wanted to be mayor, what the best thing about her job was and what she wanted to do before her time as mayor ended.
Here's what the mayor had to say: she loves her job, she'd like to get rid of the one-way system and she would like to take buses off the Prom.
The mayor is hopeful that all of these proposals will become reality soon.
Students prepared their questions and recorded the interview in the mayor's parlour.
A useful experience that they won't forget, Creative Cotswold would like to thank the mayor for her time and say how much they enjoyed meeting her.
They hope to see some of the mayor's ideas introduced in Cheltenham over the next few months.
