There are now more than four million people in England and Wales who have a non-English mother tongue.
And in our county, the Gloucestershire Rural Community Council is on the look-out for a community agent to help older Polish people get the information and access to services that they need.
The 10-hour per week job is suitable for anyone who is "fluent in the Polish language" and if they are "committed to helping older people in Gloucestershire", according to the job advert.
Kate Darch, from the organisation, said: "Village and community agents are here to help people to make contact with agencies who are able to provide them with the service or services that they may need.
"The team offer a countywide free facilitated sign posting service, primarily to the over-50s, and are able to visit people in their own homes."
The role is one of 38 such agents who have a presence in more than 200 of the county's parishes.
They are jointly funded by Gloucestershire County Council and NHS Gloucestershire.
Interested job seekers will need to get their application in by Friday, February 15.
Anyone interested should contact the GRCC on 01452 528491.
