THE Gloucester branch of clothing store D2 has been sold to another fashion chain just days after going into administration.

BDO LLP business restructuring partners, James B Stephen and David J Hill, have secured the sale of twenty D2 Jeans stores to menswear fashion retailer, Blue inc - including the city branch.

James B Stephen, BDO business restructuring partner, said: “It is good to be able to report some positive news on the retail front.

"We are pleased that it has been possible to find a buyer for twenty of the D2 stores that have been trading through administration.

"We will continue to assess the options for the remaining D2 Jeans stores to secure the best possible outcome for creditors and, wherever possible, employees.”

Steven Cohen, Managing Director of Blue Inc, said: “Blue Inc is one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most ambitious menswear fashion retailers, and with 100 years of experience we are confident that there is a bright future for the twenty stores we have acquired within our expanding national network.

"We are also pleased to be saving approximately 200 jobs within these stores, which will be rebranded as Blue Inc on local high streets in the coming months.”
