THOMAS the Tank Engine will be pulling into a Cheltenham train station next weekend.

The blue train will run from Cheltenham Racecourse to the Winchcombe station.

The Day Out with Thomas is being organised by the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway.

The creation of the Rev Wilbert Awdry, it will be travelling between both stations, together with a London Routemaster Bus giving rides.

Andy Smith, organiser of Day Out with Thomas, said: "Visitors can see many of the extraordinary Thomas and friends stories being acted out for real.

"We grew up on these stories. You'll recognise all the characters and memories of the books will come flooding back."

Tickets cost £17 for adults, £15 for senior citizens, and £10 for children.

Tickets can be bought on the day from the Racecourse station.
