Daycare service celebrates its 15th anniversary

BIRTHDAY celebrations at Uplands Care Service have marked its 15th anniversary.

The service provides day care for elderly, frail and disabled people in the All Saints' Centre, Uplands, Stroud.

"The service is community based and has always benefited from support from all sectors of the community," said Diane Vaughan, its manager.

People at the day centre enjoyed cake and musical entertainment last week to celebrate the anniversary.

"The service has changed a lot since it opened," said Mrs Vaughan.

"People are living longer and often do not require need Day Care until they are in their 80s and 90s, which means of course that they are increasingly frail, but still manage to enjoy their day out, looking on the centre as their special club."

The service has its own minibus for collecting people.
