Delays caused by crash on M5 in Gloucestershire

Motorists were delayed for hours after a lorry crashed on the M5 in Gloucestershire today (Tue).

An HGV overturned on the northbound carriageway between junctions eight and nine at about 7.20am.

Some people reported delays of up to two hours as the traffic passed the scene.

Two lanes of traffic were closed while the accident was cleared and the motorway was reopened at about 10.40am.

    “Rubbish, TiG.

    "Two lanes closed... accident cleared & lanes re-opened at about 10.40am." It's still on-going now, and Highways Agency website advises delays of 1.5 hours with one lane still closed. Try checking the facts, rather than just publishing made-up / wrong information.

    And it was between junctions 8 & 7, not 9 & 8 as stated. Fail.”
