Diana film criticised by Hucclecote-based The Diana Circle
Devotees of Princess Diana have criticised the release of a film detailing an affair with a heart surgeon just before she died.
Hucclecote pensioners Jo and Ken Dobson, who run the Diana Circle in her memory, are horrified at the release of “Diana”, 16 years on from her death in a car crash in Paris.
“We won’t watch it,” said Mrs Dobson. “They should let that young lady rest in peace. We don’t want it all dragged up. The Diana Circle is about protecting her memory.”
The film is based on Kate Snell’s book Diana: Her Last Love and stars Naomi Watts as Diana and Naveen Andrews as heart surgeon Hasnat Khan.

Mr Khan said the film is “completely wrong” and based on “cruel lies”, as it suggests that Diana was with Dodi Fayed to make Mr Khan jealous.
