Tom, baker at Nailsworth's Hobbs House, launched the Bake Your Lawn challenge.
"This is where the natural magic begins and gives real meaning to the saying 'dig in'. It takes about one square metre of land to make one loaf," said Tom, who appears in Channel 4's The Fabulous Baker Brothers.
Horsley head teacher Martin Fry said: "Bake Your Lawn helps pupils understand how real bread is made, taking them on an inspirational journey from seed to sandwich."
Anyone can join the challenge. Find out more at the www.real breadcampaign.org.
