Downsizer says first-time buyers should consider new homes
Downsizer Sue Brouwer believes there is no place to live like Gloucestershire.
The 53-year-old has moved from a three-bedroom property to a new two-bedroom home in Tuffley.
She said her detached coach house was a perfect size and that a new home came with many advantages.
"You don't have to worry about decorating," she said.

"It is especially important if you are a first-time buyer. To go for a new property to begin with I think is cheaper in the long run."
She added heating and electricity bills could be more expensive in an older property, that may be less well insulated and energy efficient.
Sue, who works for online solid wood worktop specialists Worktop Express in Quedgeley, said the kitchen was an important factor when choosing her new home and that she had an insight into how a kitchen should look through her work.
"I was very impressed with Bovis Homes, the area, the price and the quality of finish," she said.
Although it is a now a longer commute to her work, Sue said she chose her home in Bovis Homes' Copeland Park because it had a "nice reputation" and also it was not too far from her son, who lives at Crest Nicholson's Hunts Grove in Waterwells Business Park.
She has moved into her new home with her 27-year-old daughter, Hayley, who works at Lloyds Banking Group in Barnwood.
Sue, who was born and raised in Churchdown, has moved more than a handful of times in the area and lived in Quedgeley since 1980.
She said her neighbours were "quite surprised" when they heard she was moving across to Tuffley.
