“You Can Enter A Junction Box & Wait On The Yellow Grid If You're Turning Right, Providing Your Exit Road Is 'Clear'. Unfortunately People Tend To Get This Very Confused & All Manner Of Chaos Can Be Caused By Boxed Junctions, Mainly Due To The Apparent Lack Of Understanding.
Realistically Could You Seriously Expect Box Junctions Across The UK To Be Monitored Regularly At Busy Periods........Not Likely!”

“You must not enter a box junction unless your exit is clear unless you are turning right quite simple really but fools like to block the road . The police do not inforce this anyway so why put down more paint . Must admit we saw the queue went back and caught bus they were 30 mins late because of the traffic but it looks like it was a good idea”

“Itempest did you not see the great big crane in the middle of the site, yes in hindsight it would have been good to spread it out some more but then they probably didn't expect the numbers that arrived on the Saturday and Sunday. Yes at peek times it was busy but it was still enjoyable to walk around on Sunday afternoon.”

“The major problem, as well as the traffic chaos was the concentration of the market stalls in such a small space, It stopped you form spending time (and money) as you were ushered from stall to stall with the flow of people. Why did the Quays management not spread out the stalls in the vacant areas between Mechants Road and High Orchard Road and also put some actually in The Quays arcade. They really need to think about how and where the stalls are located, far too many, too close together. We left without spending any money and would have bought items had we had the space to actually see the stalls.”

“The sequencing of the lights was screwed up by ignorant drivers stopping accross junctions and the roads outside car parks blocking the was for other drivers. this then leads to the next junction down the road becoming grid locked and the process continues.... If drivers showed some more consideration I think you will find there would not have been the delays that some have experienced.

An example would be the entrance to docks car park in Southgate street, the northbound traffic was blocked by a car that had stopped across the northbound lane as he tried to enter the FULL car park, there where also people queued in the southbound lane waiting to turn right into the FULL car park blocking the southbound traffic.
There was also stationary traffic across the StAnns way bridge caused by stationary traffic across the junction into the Quays car park.

Solution BOX junctions with police enforcement at all the main junctions on busy occasions like this and stop people queuing on the road to enter Southgate Street car park.”
