ECHO COMMENT: Another year, more roadworks in Cheltenham's Bath Road
IS it any wonder traders in Bath Road are furious major roadworks are headed their way again?
Severn Trent needs to carry out sewer repairs between Grosvenor Street and Bath Street for two weeks next month.
The water company insists the work is vital and that compensation will be paid to businesses that lose out because of it.
But wouldn’t the repairs also have been vital last year? In July the same company started digging up the same stretch of road to fix a blocked sewer pipe. It was supposed to take three weeks but ended up taking more than two months.
