TRADING Standards bosses are warning about a new scam involving a plug-in energy saving device.

It comes after a man in the county was contacted by phone by a salesperson offering the device.

The caller claimed item would save the customer 40 per cent on his electricity bill and offered him a special deal for pensioners.

But trading standards officers said the device, which costs £99, has failed tests carried out by them.
