ENGLISH breakfast enthusiasts should arrive at Cheltenham Racecourse tomorrow with a real thirst.

Thousands of people looking forward to getting their firework fix will also have the chance to take part in a marathon session of tea-making – one that will hopefully make the Guinness World Records, and raise funds for local charities.

Paul Kemple, of Cheltenham Round Table, the organisers of the firework display, said the team were confident they could make the record books.

He said: "We've got 3,000 teabags from the Echo, loads of Tetley, and 700 Yorkshire tea teabags." Gates open at 5pm for tea-drinkers to attempt to beat the current record of 725 cups made, held by Plymouth's Devonshire Tea Ltd. Admission is £6 per adult, £4 per child.
