CIRENCESTER Town manager Brian Hughes will put the emphasis on enjoyment as his side battle for a Zamaretto League South and West Division play-off place.

With just under half of the season to cram into the next 11 weeks, Hughes thinks that it will be vital that his charges relish their pounding schedule.

They welcome Yate Town to the Corinium Stadium this evening (7.45pm), fresh from a win 1-0 win against Frome Town on Saturday.

The win secured by another goal for 18-year-old striker Rob Hoskins was Cirencester's sixth in their past eight games and keeps them in the play-off zone with games in hand on their rivals.

However Hughes is refusing to look at the table and is preferring to emphasise the need for his players to enjoy their upcoming run of fixtures.

"There is half of the season yet to play and there are going to be some odd results thrown up throughout the league," said Hughes.

"With all of the teams facing games almost every other day it's going to be impossible to predict what's going to happen.

"I don't want to set targets for my players, we just need to enjoy playing our football.

"Before the game against Cinderford last week we said to the players that we should get something there if we want to get into the play-offs.

"We then had our worst performance for a while as we looked a tense.

"We need to enjoy our football and what will be will be."

Key to Cirencester's recent run of form and their overall improvement over the course of the current season has been a miserly defence.

Even without the services of suspended captain Neil Griffiths, the Centurions were able to record their third clean sheet in four games.

And with speedy striker Carl Brown now fully fit after knee surgery, Hughes can now call upon the services of five proven Southern League strikers.

"We have some good defenders playing well and Matt Bath is having an inspired time in goal," said Hughes.

"Carl looks to be over his knee problems as well and we don't look to have picked up too many knocks or bumps.

"Yate are on a good run but we won a good game against a form side on Saturday so we are confident."
