Ex-007 Pierce Brosnan hits the fairway at Cleeve Hill

FORMER James Bond Pierce Brosnan was neither shaken nor stirred as he hit the fairway.

No longer on Her Majesty's secret service, the ex-007 didn't have to keep a low profile.

Instead, the slick one-time agent had time to play six holes at Cleeve Hill Golf Club.

Pierce, who starred in Bond films including GoldenEye and Die Another Day, was staying at the Ellenborough Park Hotel, at Prestbury.

Club professional Matt Evans said: "He just rang up asking for a lesson with a pro as he's trying to get into golf a bit more.

"He hired some Cleeveland Clubs and was very competent at getting round.

"I'd say he plays to a handicap of 15.

"Pierce was very chatty and talked about the new Bond film Skyfall.

"He said everyone keeps asking him if he's seen it as he's friends with Daniel Craig. He hasn't."

He added: "We all sat down after for coffee. Pierce had a large Jameson's with his and signed lots of autographs – he was great with his time."
