Ex-Olympic catering equipment sale
AN OLYMPICS catering company based in Bishop's Cleeve is selling off a flood of the equipment it hired out for feeding the Games-hungry crowds at the Olympic Park.
PKL has put hundreds of ovens, pans, grills, fridges, hobs and hot cupboards on sale at a 70 per cent discount.
A donation is being made to the Children's Food Trust for each piece of equipment sold. The company, which also provided catering equipment for the Beijing Olympics and Commonwealth Games, ended up with enough "surplus" stock to fill two football pitches after London2012 ended.
Lee Vines, PKL's sales and marketing director, said the sporting sell-off and donations would carry on for as long as there was equipment to sell. Caroline Coker, PKL's marketing executive, said new schools were set to benefit.

She said: "The cost of setting up a new school is huge, and as you can imagine, these pieces can cost thousands of pounds, so it's giving them a chance to buy something useful they can provide hot school meals with."
