Ex landlord is school chaplain
AN EX-PUB landlord and monk has become a school chaplain.
The Rev John McHale will return to his roots when he begins shortly at Wycliffe College in Stonehouse.

Mr McHale, who was born in the Cotswolds and grew up the son of a shepherd, brings a wide experience of life to his work.
"He left school at 16 and joined the armed forces. He ran a pub and spent three years as a Roman Catholic monk," Gloucester Diocesan spokesman Wyn Beynon said.

Mr McHale then spent 12 years as a teacher of music and 16 years as a teacher of religious studies.
He's also been head of a sixth form and an assistant head teacher.
"He was ordained in Wales in 2008 and worked as chaplain to Llandovery College before moving to be chaplain of Lichfield Cathedral School," Mr Beynon said.
Mr McHale's hobbies include various musical activities, cookery and exploring historical buildings.
Mr McHale was licensed by the Bishop of Tewkesbury at a special service at Wycliffe College.
