A HUMAN rights campaigner leads a programme of events at the Isbourne Holistic Centre in Cheltenham this month.

Zerbanoo Gifford, who previously picked up the International Woman of the Year Award for her humanitarian work, will present a talk next Monday from 7pm. A pioneer for Asian women in British politics and a former director of Anti-Slavery International, Zerbanoo was awarded the Freedom of the City of Lincoln, Nebraska, for her work combating modern slavery and racism.

The guest speaker in her talk, The Importance of Defying Expectations, is expected to challenge and inspire people to change a world which she argues is temporarily stuck in greed and prejudice

. "In my book Confessions of a Serial Womaniser, I feature the stories of the some of the world's most inspirational women," Zerbanoo says. "Women who have transformed their lives and the lives of others by their hard work, guts and acts of compassion. These women defy expectations, and in my talk I will share some of their secrets and hope you'll be inspired to do the same."

Tickets for the talk cost £10. Alternatively, dive into something more active with a series of Iyengar Yoga sessions with John Ferrabee. The five-week block of sessions begin on Monday, February 18.

They will cost you £60 for five. If that doesn't tickle your fancy then an event with Kate Collieron February 23 from 10am to 4pm may be the thing for you. Kate will use constellations as a means of therapy for ill-health.

If that feels a bit too left-field then you may want to take a look at Put Magic into Your Life! on February 24 where John Down and Richard Ballinger will talk about the art of magic. Tickets cost £40 each.
