Exercise readies soldiers for NATO role
MORE than 400 soldiers, based at the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) barracks in Innsworth, were deployed to Staffordshire for a training exercise last week.
ARRC is scheduled to play a key role in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) Response Force in 2013 and this exercise was part of the training programme.
Founded in Germany in 1992, ARRC is a NATO Rapid Deployment Corps headquarters, but has now been based in Gloucestershire since August 2010. It is a multi-national force made up of 15 partner nations.
