Cheltenham Spa - falling tree blocks track
TRAINS were delayed for more than hour yesterday after a large tree fell between Cheltenham Spa and Abbotswood station.
The tree, which blocked the Up Main line, had been struck by the train.
The driver working the 11.45am Cardiff to Nottingham service made an emergency call and stopped all other trains.
Workers with chainsaws and a mobile operations manager helped reopen the line for trains to pass around 1pm.
