HYP will be selling tights and garters, and Briefly stated will be producing underwear and sleepwear, whereas FREEZE clothing will be selling knitwear and hoodies. It seems that FREEZE clothing may have got the short end of the stick with this licensing agreement, as their clothing options are arguably a little less relevant to the novel’s demographic.

However, despite the slightly bizarre decision to sell t-shirts and hooded tops on FREEZE’s part, it seems that HYP will more than likely be able to reap the rewards of the trilogy’s success. It has recently been announced that the novel has officially sold more than 40 million copies around the world, and the first book in the series has surpassed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as the fastest-selling book of all time in the United Kingdom. Great news for the clothing companies involved in this latest addition to the franchise. Hosiery is big business as it is, and considering the main characters of the novel spend the vast majority of their time in various states of undress, Fifty Shades inspired underwear will undoubtedly fly off the shelves.
