Final goodbyes to much-loved Cheltenham teenager Scott Lewis
FROM the moment he arrived on a horse-drawn hearse, friends and family fought back emotions as they laid to rest teenager Scott Lewis yesterday.
More than 200 people gathered to say goodbye to the 16-year-old, from Swindon Village, who died in a motorcycle crash in Goa, India, last month, while on a month-long holiday with his father.
The former Pittville School pupil's coffin was carried to Cheltenham Cemetery and Crematorium in Prestbury on a carriage drawn by two stallions.
Scott loved horses, and worked with animals on Swindon Village farm as he was growing up.

During the service, his oldest sister, Annie, 21, said: "I never thought I would be doing this and it breaks my heart.
"You were so loved and the support from everyone has been amazing. You have left a hole in our hearts and you were the best brother.
"You grew into this incredible young man, who was kind and had a heart of gold.
"You were truly one in a million. You had been with me, and stood by me, and even offered me your coat when I was cold.
"You often came over to stay and I remember you running around and being an amazing godfather, uncle, brother, son and friend."
Girlfriend Amy Gore, 18, called Scott a loving and "most handsome" boyfriend who would do anything for her.
"From the day you came into my life and met me, I was the happiest girl ever," she said.
"I often wonder why you were taken from my life. You will always be a part of me, and I am a part of you.
"I know you are watching over us from heaven and I miss you more each day.
"You will always stay in my heart and I will always remember you."
Younger sister Megan read out a poem as she remembered her older brother.
She said: "To live a life without you would be the hardest thing to do."
Many of his friends and family were left in tears as Aerosmith's I Don't Want to Miss A Thing played during the service.
The Rev Philip Smith said friends in Goa would be placing flowers on the spot he died at the same time as the funeral took place in Cheltenham.
Emeli Sande's Clown was also played in memory of Scott, who was given an award as the cheekiest pupil when he graduated from Pittville School last year.
Scott died on January 3. He is survived by his parents Tina and John, sisters Annie, Lizzy and Megan, brother John, and goddaughter Macey Vedmore.
