Finnigan signs Kidderminster deal
FORMER Cheltenham Town captain John Finnigan has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Kidderminster Harriers.
The 33-year-old midfielder who spent the last seven years serving the Robins with distinction will link up with his former midfield partner Mark Yates at the Aggborough club.

John Finnigan applauds the crowd after his last ever Whaddon Road appearance for Cheltenham Town
The dynamic central midfield player who has endured a miserable two seasons with injury agreed a contract settlement with the Robins earlier this week, freeing him to move to Kidderminster.
He turned down the advances of ambitious Blue Square South club Newport County, in order to be re-united with his former team-mate.
Yates, who like Finnigan captained the Robins to play-off victory at the Millennium Stadium was delighted to have secured Finnigan's services.
"I've played with Finners, he's a great player and he will be fantastic to have around the place," said Yates.
"The only reason he is not playing League One football is because he has fallen out with someone at his last club - that is not a problem and we benefit from that.
"He's a professional he will be a great addition to the squad."

“Much to your annoyance, I am CTFC through and through, a season ticket holder and probably supporting them even before you were just a stain.
Genuine fans can recognise great players and put them in the legends section(where John Finnigan is), something you have great difficulty in understanding. Calling them parasites is just sick and NO club deserves your support.
I will be going up the M5 to see him for reasons I dont have to explain to you.
If you were any kind of fan, you would have read what Neil Grayson has written in the pre-season program about some of the Cheltenham fans STILL go and watch him play at Glapwell in the Unibond league, at the age of 45!!!! Thats what some legendary players do to fans, but I guess thats gone straight over your head.”

“Well done John. The manner in which you have taken all this without saying a word against anyone does you much credit. Thankyou for the pleasure you have given us with your way of playing and for the loyalty and committment you have shown CTFC. Lucky Kidderminster. Its not far up the M5 .Will probably be up to see them from time to time. God bless”

“Finners - all the best, you've been a legend for CTFC. I hope that we see you back one day, coaching or maybe picking up from where Mad Dog leaves off..?
Anyhow, our loss is Kiddy's gain, thank you for everything you've done, you've been a great ambassador to the club.
You will be missed.”

“Might just join you Shippers. Great news for John. He'll be with people he knows and will look after him, the fans should welcome him with open arms.
Tom, I'm sure the amount of time hes had to get over his injury should be enough, because if it isnt, then I doubt it ever will be.
I am a bit surprised at Yatesie coming out and telling of the supposed fall out, a bit unprofessional I think.”

“If he stays fit, he'll be one of the best players in the Conference without doubt.
At least now he can relax and enjoy his football again, will be popping up there to watch him, proper midfielder.”
