Firefighters tackle chemical spill at GlaxoSmithKline in Coleford
Firefighters are tackling a chemical spill at GlaxoSmithKline in Coleford.
Several crews from Coleford, Cinderford and Stroud, including the Environmental Protection Unit have been sent to deal with the incident at the company's site in the Forest of Dean, known for making Ribena. They were called just before 5.30am this morning and remain at the plant.

It's understood 800 litres of Mezzo Divosan used for the sanitation of drums and fillers and other equipment used by the food industry has been spilt, although this has been contained within the site.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Fire Service said: "There are no casualties and we are dealing with the spillage carefully given the nature of the chemical."
Michael Allen from GlaxoSmithKline said: "The fire crews and environmental unit responded fantastically. There are no casualties and the area has been sealed off as a precautionary measure. The accident happened when a fork lift truck driver clipped one of the drums containing the chemical which is more potent in its less diluted form. Safety is always paramount in there situations but we expect to be back to normal by 9am."
