THE annual Churchdown Park fireworks extravaganza will mark the opening ceremony of the new wildlife ponds in Parton Road on Friday, November 2.

An area of land at the community space has been transformed to encourage wildlife into the ponds and create a family attraction in the community.

A scaled-back firework display has been agreed after fears over health and safety threw the event into doubt earlier this year.

Family entertainment and refreshments will be available, with tickets available from the council offices, Janice's Fruit and Veg shop, GL3 Hub, Krishna News and Innsworth Barbers.

“Well that'll be sure to scare any potential inhabitants away!

May I just remind anyone having a bonfire this year to check it for hedgehogs? They will be actively seeking somewhere to hibernate. Best to build the bonfire just prior to lighting. Thankyou.”
