Flamboyant 70-year-old walker stops off on 8,000 mile trip
HE is walking 8,000 miles around the UK dressed in a top hat and tails. And now 70-year-old Andy Peddle has visited Gloucester Salvation Army.
He is walking to each Salvation Army church and shop in the country to talk about human trafficking and homelessness, and aims to raise £100,000. He visited our branch on Friday and said it was enjoyable to have another warm welcome, with the Salvation Army brass band greeting him.
Mr Peddle said: "Undertaking this task is extremely satisfying since it allows me to repay my debt to the Salvation Army". He has been a member all his life.
Mr Peddle has already walked over 6,500 miles from the Shetland Isles since May 2012 and has 1,200 miles to go until his final destination of London.
