Floating on air: proposal over a Cotswolds sky
A COUPLE was floating on air when Chris Goodenough popped the question - midway through a helicopter flight above the Cotswolds.
It was a heart-on-his-sleeve moment for Chris, 47, who readily admits it was love at first sight when he met Hannah Lewis-Jones.
And then, while the helicopter hovered above a field of galloping horses in Adlestrop, where Hannah has a horse at Richard Phillips’ racing stables, he got down on bended knee to ask Hannah if she would be his.
Chris, a former Bath Rugby backrow player, had decided on the surprise after realising his girlfriend of 10 months had not been on a helicopter before.

He said: “It was a really nice surprise. She told me a few months ago that she had never been in a helicopter, and I just thought it would be a good idea.
“I’ve been planning for it for a few months, and I told her last month I would take her up at Gloucestershire Airport.
“When you are asking someone to marry you, you should really try to do something different, and although I’ve been on a helicopter before, it was a first-time experience for Hannah.”
Hannah, 38, from Bristol, was so delighted with the proposal that she burst into tears when Chris asked her to be his wife.
“I suspected he would when he told me he was taking me on a helicopter,” Hannah said.
“It was simply amazing. We were just above the fields, and we saw the horses galloping which was quite a sight.
“It was an absolutely lovely moment, and I will certainly remember it for the rest of my life.
“When I first met him he had the most ridiculous Movember moustache, and it was quite funny.
“Now that we are engaged, it is just an awesome feeling. I have gained an amazing family. I feel scared and really good at the same time.”
The pair met at a black-tie dinner event.
