FOREST Green Rovers have announced the signings of three players and expect nine more to put pen to paper this week.

Last season's player of the year Paul Stonehouse, Marcus Palmer and Tom Pass have become the latest names to commit their futures to the New Lawn.

Stonehouse, 21, is considered within Football Conference circles to be a top-quality, attack-minded left full-back.

The club believe he has a bright future, having already made over 100 appearances in the Blue Square Premier.

He is best remembered last season for his goal against Derby County in the FA Cup third round, when he put his team 3-2 up before they eventually lost 4-3.

Palmer, also 21, made a few brief substitute appearances for the first team last season and scored on his debut at Altrincham, having only been on the field for three minutes.

Following the departure of Michael Symons to Gloucester City, Palmer is seen as a back-up to last season's Blue Square Premier Golden Boot winner, Andy Mangan.

Pass came through the college and youth set-up at Rovers, who rate him as one of the best goalkeeping prospects in non-League football and are delighted he has signed his first professional contract with them.

He recently earned the man of the match award when playing for England Under-18s against France at Wembley.
