Forest film fan Emma Rawlings likes nothing better than getting her teeth into some facial hair.

For the Cinderford wigmaker's sideburns are featured in the Wolfman film starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Emily Blunt.

Emma, 38, made the sideburns for all the stunt men who doubled for the male stars in the gothic- style horror movie.

"I went to see the film and the first set of sideburns lasted about one-and-a-half minutes," she said.

"They were worn by the first guy to be eaten by the werewolf. But I stayed and it was good to see all my 'sidees' on the big screen."

Emma made the sideburns for the stunt men in the film, including the one who doubled for Del Toro, who played the lead role of Laurence Talbot in the recent remake of the 1941 classic movie.

But it is not the first time her work has been featured on screen since the former lab technician switched careers and took a wigmaking and make-up course.

She has made full head wigs, including a blonde one with long black roots, but is best known for her moustaches, beards and sideburns.

Emma's hairline add-ons have also given numerous thinning actors a full head of hair.

And she will never be out of work because men find it difficult to grow the perfect beard without the bald spots or colour changes exposed on screen.

Most of her work is for a specialist company and she said: "I never really know who I am making wigs for – then a couple of months later they might say 'did you see your tache on such and such a programme?'."

Emma, who also works part-time at the Palace Cinema in Cinderford, uses real hair for her creations and watches TV and films or listens to audio books while knotting away.

One day she hopes to become an on-set wigmaker.
