Formula milk is rationed by Gloucestershire supermarkets to stop bulk-buyers
Parents and nurseries across the city have raised concerns over the new rules regarding baby milk.
Supermarkets are rationing popular brands, Aptamil and Cow & Gate formula milk, to prevent it being bought in bulk and shipped to China where it can fetch three times the price.
Parents can now only buy a maximum of two 900g tins of Aptamil or Cow & Gate milk each time they shop at Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons across Gloucestershire.
Becky Wray, of Chestnut Day Nursery in Church Road, Longlevens, said: "Our parents bring their own formula for their babies to use while they are in our care.
"The new rule will make it difficult because babies are fed more than once in the day.
"They will need some at nursery and then again when they go home.
"It will be especially difficult for the babies that stay with us full time during the day."
