Foster carers must be over 21 and have a spare room
FOSTER carers must be over 21 years old and need to have a spare room in their home. The council also needs people with sufficient space to foster sibling groups so that brothers and sisters can stay together and have their own room. The council has speeded up the adoption and fostering process. It takes five months on average to complete the fostering process from accepting their application to foster. The council also fast tracks second time adopters and foster carers within three months wherever possible.
