Fresh appeal over attack on Gloucester gran
A RENEWED appeal has been made for witnesses to Sunday's vicious assault on a Gloucester gran on the Hempsted canal towpath to come forward.
The attack on the 47-year-old woman whilst out walking with her 8-year-old grandson has sickened the community.
She was punched to the ground in broad daylight and kicked and beaten to the head between Anchorage Way and Sainsbury's.
A 27-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody for further questioning.

The victim said she was approached at around 2pm by a man wearing a long dark coat, hood tightened around his head, scarf covering his face and trousers tucked into his boots.
He is then alleged to have punched and kicked the woman several times, causing bruising and swelling to her face and head before making off.
Her terrified grandson who ran off terrified was unhurt in the attack.
Police want to hear from anyone on the towpath who may have seen the offender before or after the attack
Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting incident 207 of February 24.
