Funding boost for film makers
YOUNG film makers in Gloucestershire have been given a cash boost by Cheltenham Film Society members.
Now in its 66th season in September, the society voted to support film making in the community with its surplus funds.
The major beneficiaries include the University of Gloucestershire, which will benefit from equipment, bursaries and prizes for their digital film course over a three-year period.
Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum's short film competition for young people in Cheltenham this summer will also get some funding.
The society will also sponsor the second Cheltenham Film Festival which will take place later this year.
Chairman Helen Cook said: "We're absolutely thrilled that the success of the society means we now have this fantastic opportunity to encourage and invest in the next generation of film makers."
