Funding needed to build a new sports clubhouse in Tredworth
PLANS to build a new rugby clubhouse in Tredworth are at a standstill until enough funds are raised.
The Tredworth Rugby Club needs £8,000 for the planning application, design, and council and solicitors fees.

The new clubhouse, which will be named as the Tredworth Rugby Football Community Club, will not only serve players, but also youngsters and the nearby residents.
Managing director, Reg Daldry, said: "We have talked to the council about the plans and it looks promising. We just don't have the money to go ahead."

The plans include two main halls for meetings, fitness classes, two bars, showers and a venue hall for weddings and small functions.
Mr Daldry added: "Since the youth centre, Star 66, closed there is nothing around here for the locals.
"We want to incorporate the residents. We will be holding bingo nights and fitness classes.
"This is a chance to get youths off the streets and keep them busy. "
The clubhouse will also be regularly used by the Mayor of Barton, Delroy Ellis, who will run his youth club there during the week.
Residents around The Lannet area, off King Edward Avenue, will have free membership for one year including bookings for any of the halls.
A fundraising event will be held in a marquee at the ground on March 16 when the rugby clubs will gather for the final of the six nations England vs Wales match. A performance by Wild Green will finish off the night.
Mr Daldry said: "We are holding small fundraising events, but it just does not help massively. We still have bills to pay and travel costs when we play away matches. We have some companies lined up which will help fund the actual building. We hope the work will start in the next two to three months."
