THE funeral of Newent schoolboy William Luckett had to go ahead without his casket on Friday because of the snow.
His devastated family had travelled over to the Isle of Wight to say goodbye to the 15-year-old.

Will died on December 30 from what was thought to be a severe allergic reaction to nuts while visiting his father on the island.
But his family's mourning was brought up short last week when they were told his coffin could not be brought to the Crematorium because of the bad weather.

Will's mum Helen Stiles said: "It was all a bit of a chaotic mess. Sadly the weather kept others away as well but Will's headteacher Jane Steele came over and it meant so much to me and she said the most wonderful things about him."
Helen read a letter to her beloved son, extracts from his journal and a poem by Luke Jackson who Will admired as he was a fellow Aspergers sufferer.
A recording was played of the talented musician playing Albatross by Fleetwood Mac on the guitar and a M83 CD which the teenager bought on the day he died.
Helen said duel committal services were to be held yesterday in the Isle of Wight and St Peter's Church in Clifford Mesne's to allow Will's body to be laid to rest.
She plans to bring his ashes back home and scatter them on May Hill which was one of Will's favourite spots. She has also asked the National Trust for permission to install a memorial bench at the beauty spot.
A memorial concert is being planned for February 19 by his classmates at Newent Community School.
Helen said: "I'm really looking forward to as it will be a proper celebration of his life."
She said the family is struggling to come to terms with the loss and added: "I feel empty but have got to start rebuilding things for his brothers and sisters and be strong for them."
