Funeral date for football player Luke
THE funeral of footballer Luke Griffin is to take place this month. Relatives, friends and soccer team mates will say their final farewells to Luke, 21, from Stroud, at the service at St Matthew's Church in Cainscross on October 19.
Luke, who also used the surname Harrison, was found dead on a beach in Newquay early on June 2.
His family's spokeswoman, his aunt Debbie Harrison, said an individual funeral service was planned, starting at noon.
Cremation afterwards at Gloucester would be a private family occasion, she said.

Luke was on an end-of-season tour with Leonard Stanley AFC when he died.
Two men arrested on suspicion of his assault were later released without charge by Devon and Cornwall Police.
A spokesman for Cornwall's coroner said inquiries into Luke's death were ongoing. No date was yet fixed for his inquest, he said.
Former Archway School pupil Luke had also attended Stroud College.
