Gambling addict jailed for spate of robberies
GAMBLING addict Lloyd Kieran Jones launched an unsophisticated series of robberies using a plastic bag full of wires and handwritten notes threatening to blow himself up.
Lloyd Kieran Jones, of Glynneath, South Wales, embarked on a two-week spree at betting shops and travel agencies across eight counties in England and Wales.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that the balding 32-year-old carried out the attacks while out of prison on licence for robbery.
Jones unsuccessfully tried to rob the Betfair branch in Lydney on October 22.

“Could we get Judge Eleri Rees a job at Gloucester Crown Court. He seems to know how to hand down a decent sentence. With him on the bench he would strike fear into the hearts of all the criminal fraternity in Gloucestershire. Our soft lot would have given this waste of space a suspended sentence or community service, after being hoodwinked by the defence lawyer on how he was trying to turn his life around, and this was just a blip !!”
