Gardeners can drink to charity
A GLOUCESTER garden centre is giving free tea and coffee to customers in return for a charity donation.
Blooms Gloucester Garden Centre is backing Macmillan Cancer Support's national 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' this month.
The centre is inviting people to join in with the charity coffee morning on Friday, September 24 from 9am until noon.
A spokesman said: "We are holding the coffee morning at both garden centres to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. We will be providing free tea and coffee between 9am and noon and inviting customers to make a donation to the charity.
"We hope lots of people from the area come along to the event and help us support this worthy cause."
Blooms Cheltenham Garden Centre is also taking part.
The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support's flagship event. Last year (2009), more than 43,000 official coffee mornings were held, raising more than £7.9million for the charity. This year Macmillan is hoping to beat its target of £8million.
Charles Byrne, Head of Corporate Partnerships and Events at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "We are extremely grateful for the support from Blooms Cheltenham Garden Centre and Blooms Gloucester Garden Centre."
