Getting unemployed back into new jobs
UNEMPLOYED people in Gloucester are getting the chance of returning to work thanks to a scheme run by Gloucester City Homes.
Four people with learning disabilities have joined their estate services team thanks to a project involving the housing agency, the county council and the Home Farm Trust. Each has been given a six-month contract working with the team.
The project launched in 2005 to provide a wide range of work experience opportunities, placements and apprenticeships to unemployed people across the county.
Anita Pope, from Gloucester City Homes, said: "The difference in the four people who have taken up this opportunity is amazing. "Work has given them confidence and they have all been exemplary in the work they have carried out."

“Am I reading this right?
Four, six month contracts make the news.
There are 2.53 million unemployed, and Gloucester job centre have to get through job seekers at a rate of one a minute just to see the thousands of locals looking for work.
Four temporary jobs make the actual news alongside news of MP's wages of £60k and how they may be getting higher..
What is going on these days??”
