Former Gloscat building in Brunswick Road is razed to the ground
THOUSANDS of students will have learned their trade there but progress waits for no one and the old Gloscat building in Brunswick Road is gone forever.
The imposing structure had been fenced off for months while demolition teams prepared to move in, and it was finally razed altogether this week.
The site, next to Greyfriars, is being transformed into a development which will boast 176 apartments, 78 houses, a doctor's surgery, pharmacy, offices, restaurants, cafe bars and a community space.
It's seen by regeneration officials as one of the key projects to bolster Gloucester's future, and the demolition mirrors the pulling down of its sister building over the road in recent weeks.
