Gloucester Gang Show will perform a flash mob at Cheltenham's Brewery complex
A FLASH mob from the Gloucester Gang Show will be taking Cheltenham's The Brewery by storm.
In preparation for the Gloucester Gang Show, which is taking place at the Bacon Theatre in April, dancers from the show will be appearing at the complex on Saturday, March 23rd and Monday, April 1.

Dances will be taking place between 12.45pm and 1.30pm and feature songs from the popular Muppet's movie Life's a Happy Song and We Will Rock You.

“The flash mob was great fun... we all thought so!
As I said before.. it ultimately makes absolutely NO difference whether it is called a 'true flash mob' or a 'performance'. The idea of the event was to spread the word about our show and involve the public.
I myself was speaking to some members of the public who were watching, after the dance had taken place and a lot of them had seen the article in the paper and so decided to come along and have a look.
It gets on my nerves that people (and the same people at that!) continually slate something that is such a great thing!!! I'm so proud to be part of the Gang and I really enjoy the productions... (I am not part of the production team.. purely a cast member) From my point of view the production team are doing their upmost to promote our show and I see no problems with how that has been done. The paper choose the pictures that are printed, not us!!!”

“Whilst as a Gang, we welcome helpful advice... Some things posted here are unfair... We all support our production team... They put in bucket loads of their time to make this show possible... And whilst you suggest that they are using it as self promotion, if you watched a rehearsal I am sure you would see things completely differently... We all have the chance to shine if we so wish... Whether it be as a soloist, a dancer, in a front tab or a combination of things... If we as a gang had a problem with the way the production team were working don't you think we would have walked out by now? ... Yet in fact over the last few years the cast has grown...”

“Flash mob performances are often advertised in advance, and some of the large ones in big cities even post the routine online in advance so people can learn it ready to join in. It is all very clever.
Whether you call it a flash mob or a performance it was a chance for the Gang to demonstrate some of what is in store at the theatre next week and they did a fantastic job at a fantastic venue.
The entire cast had the opportunity to be involved in the flash mob but some couldn't commit sadly, however if you watch the video you will see that many junior and senior members could make it and they really enjoyed themselves. Well done peeps. :-)”

“Firstly a flash mob should be something spontaneous and not something that is promoted for people to attend. This was a performance and not a true flash mob.
In addition having been someone who saw the 2012 production it appears that the production team once again are chosing to promote themselves and their close friends first and foremost. of course other Gang members join in but they are not the one's leading the performance... and I always thought scouting/guiding was about the youths involved?
Sadly I think the 2013 production will be the same self promotion by certain individuals. time will tell....”

“Nothing wrong with Flash Mobs - can be effective marketing....but - erm - isn't the whole idea of a Flash Mob that no-one knows about it in advance?? That's what a flash mob is!!
This is not going to be a Flash Mob. it's going to be a performance.
