Gloucester Rugby: Skipper Mike Tindall yearns for silverware
GLOUCESTER skipper Mike Tindall is determined to bring some silverware back to Kingsholm this season.
Since the World Cup winner made the short journey from Bath in 2005, he has only lifted the European Challenge Cup with the Cherry and Whites in 2006.

Tough training: Mike Tindall with Bryan Redpath
But after coming so close to glory in 2007 and 2008 when they finished top of the Premiership table, Tindall says his desire to win the title is as strong as ever.
“Massively, it has been my aim for the last 14 years of playing professional rugby,” said Tindall who has 63 caps for England.
“I want a domestic title. I want the Premiership title. Yes we won the European Challenge Cup a few years back but we have finished top of the Premiership a few years back two or three times and not won it.
“That hurts after a while so we have still got to strive for that and that has still got to be our goal.”
Bryan Redpath’s side begin the new campaign with a trip to face newly promoted Exeter today and Tindall says the squad will not be underestimating them.
Gloucester will have to cope with a sold out Sandy Park bursting to the brim with 10,000 screaming Exeter fans that have been starved of top flight rugby for a number of years.
And Tindall says working on their away day mentality has been a big focus of their pre-season preparations.
“The way the boys have reacted this summer has been exceptional really,” added Tindall.
“Brush (Redpath) has tried to make it a hard and tough environment, tougher on yourself, tougher on other people and making people accountable.
“We are trying to grow as players and personalities and hopefully that will shine through in the tough games.
“They will throw everything at us and we have to expect them to play way above what we expect them to play like.”

“It's not sold out yet. There's still over 1400 tickets left as I write this.”
