Gloucester attracts hundreds of people for its annual Residents' Weekend event
DOZENS of events across the city centre attracted hundreds of people to revel in Residents' Weekend.
Everything from tours of Gloucester Brewery to tasting sessions at Stanman's Kitchen, and crafts at Gloucester Cathedral to treatments at the Sula Lightship took place at the weekend as part of the annual event.
Friends Georgina Gwilliam and Rose Steele stopped off at Stanman's to enjoy the local produce and free samples of chutneys, cheeses and pickles that were on offer.
Georgina said: "It was my first time there and I'll definitely be going back, it was really nice.

"I think Residents' Weekend is a really good idea and it shows people just what is on offer in the city.
"More should be made of the city and what people can do there, I don't think it is promoted well enough."
Meanwhile, Jared Brown of Gloucester Brewery enjoyed a successful weekend.
He said: "We ran brewery tours throughout Saturday and Sunday.
"We had a great turnout and people showed a real interest in what we were doing. I think the fact that we were actually brewing beer as the tours took place made it quite an experience.
"We also had several converts who didn't normally drink real ale but once they tasted were surprised how much they liked it."
All of the events were either free or special rate entry on what was the second annual Residents' Weekend.
The weekend is aimed solely at people living in postcodes GL1, GL2, GL3 or GL4 in a bid to open their eyes to what the city offers.
