Gloucester dog walker targeting homes with mess
A dog owner is deliberately targeting homes in Barton with his pet's mess, it was claimed last night.
Residents in All Saints Road say they are sick and tired of seeing dog mess in front of their houses.

Gloucester City Councillor Usman Bhaimia
Gloucester City Councillor Usman Bhaimia (Lib Dem, Barton and Tredworth) said he was sure it was one dog owner deliberately targeting the area.
He said: "There is one dog walker and he is deliberately making his dog mess outside these people's homes.
"Residents have been calling me up, and it keeps happening in the same place. It's very disgusting."
Mohamad and Maryam Tilly said they were constantly faced with dog mess on the path by their home.
Maryam, of All Saints Road, said: "There is lots of dog mess on the footpaths and on the road.
"It happens first thing in the morning or overnight so you can't be around to stop them. You have to clean it up yourself.
"I am not sure if it is one person or more than one but they should clear up after their own animals."
Gloucester city councillor Steve Morgan (Con, Grange), cabinet member for the environment, said the issue of dog fouling was taken very seriously.
He said: "Obviously, if this is true, it's disgusting activity.
"Given the opportunity, we will ask our enforcement officers to investigate the incident and catch those responsible so we can prosecute them. I would urge those affected to come forward."
Mr Morgan added anyone with issues about dog fouling should contact the council in person at the North Warehouse or by calling 01452 396396.

“I agree with usman and the residents of Barton. The dog fouling has been getting out of control and the dog owners should understand that not everyone shares the same enthusiasm about their poodle as they do and should clear up after them.”

“I am a resident of the mentioned street above, and it is true. There is a young resident dog owner at one of the flats at the bottom of the road who constantly walks up and down. He is the one responsible. I have approached him myself and he is not interested in clearing the mess and actually finds it amusing. I will not take the law into my own hands as I am too old for it now.”

“Deliberate Dog Fouling - may be not!! There are not enough dog bins in Gloucester, the council remark is they do not need to provide bins!! so what do you expect, every one pays council tax, so why do the council not spend the money wisley and provide more dog bins, also I do not know if this is true but I have heard that the city council are giving out free dog bags - if this is the case why has this not been advertised? could it be when no one asks for these, they could turn round and say there was no need as nobody has asked for them! So let the people know what is available.
I am a dog owner and always clear up after my dog, and can understand the frustration, of carrying a full doggie bag, and having no where to dispose of it, there are some irresponsible dog owners, no matter what you do will not clear up after there dog, but the majority do, so do not say all dog owners are irresponsible!!
I would like the City Council to give answers as to why there is a shortage of dog bins (do not use the excuse there is no money, as some times money is wasted) have you budgeded for dog bins in next years budget? if not why not? this is where all the problems start. Secondly confirm that there are free dog bags available, and why has this not been advertised. Talk of dog wardens when they only work between office hours, what is the point of that, when this usually happens early morning and evening, so if fact this is a waste of money, as they are not being used when they are really needed? So come on Glos city council give us some answers, and do not take bins away, and then blame the dog owners, if there is an issue regarding emptying them, maybe you should have made sure that the contracters were informed of the number of bins that need emptying, rather then removing them.
I feel much better now that I have got this off my chest.
I hope the citizen will pick up on this and do something on it.”
