Gloucester hooker Darren Dawidiuk handed six-week ban
DARREN Dawidiuk will miss five of Gloucester’s six remaining regular-season fixtures after being handed a six-week ban for his tip tackle on Dave Attwood.
The Gloucester hooker pleaded not guilty to the charge of committing a dangerous tackle on Bath lock Attwood, in the Cherry and Whites’ 31-25 defeat at The Rec on Friday, March 1.

But in a hearing on Monday night the 25-year-old front-rower was found guilty of a tip tackle, and banned for six weeks.
He will be available to play again on April 22 – in time for Gloucester’s final regular-season Premiership clash at Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, May 4.

Gloucester lock Lua Lokotui pleaded not guilty to the same charge, of affecting a tip tackle against former Kingsholm lock Attwood.
The 33-year-old Tongan’s charge was dismissed, and he is free to play in Gloucester’s next match, against London Welsh at Kingsholm on Saturday, March 23.

“Good news for Lua, bad news for Darren. Hopefully Edmonds will be fit and available to line up alongside our first choice and top rated tight head, Rupert Harden in the last few games of the season. It would be a disaster waiting to happen if Harden was unavailable as our key man in the scrum.”
