Gloucester means everything – Webb
TOM Webb has become club captain after more than 300 appearances for Gloucester City.
The 25-year-old has been handed the armband by Neil Mustoe, who moves to a new role as first-team coach.

Central midfielder Webb said he was looking to emulate his predecessor and lead the Tigers to victory in the Blue Square North.
"Muzzie has been a great captain," he said. "I have learned a great deal from him in how he acts and conducts himself and his expectations."
Gloucester born and bred Webb has been a key part of the Tigers squad since his first-team debut in 2001.
During the 2005-06 league campaign he played in every minute of every game for Gloucester, a rare feat in non-League football.
"I started here when I was 16," he said. "It is the only team I have ever played for.
"Gloucester means everything to me and it is a massive part of my life.
"I have been lucky never to have any serious injuries and have had a great run.
"To be part of the promotion effort last year was brilliant."
Webb, who works as a PE teacher at Beaufort Community School in Tuffley, named promotion, alongside his FA Trophy goals at Southport and Woking, as his highlights at City.
He said team spirit would be key as the Tigers continue their first season in the Blue Square North.
"It is a difficult league but it will be a great challenge for us," he said.
"We have been based on team spirit and it has helped us with promotion when we haven't even got a ground.
"It means even more now and we will come through this. We are lucky to have the experience of the likes of Matt Rose, Muzzie and Alex Sykes."
During his time at City Webb has played under many captains and said two stood out as big influences.
"I always looked up to Neil Griffiths," he said. "He always gave 110 per cent in training.
"His performance never dropped, even if he'd had a tough day at work, and Neil Mustoe is a total footballer."
Tigers boss Dave Mehew said Webb was the only choice to take over from Mustoe.
"He is a Gloucester boy through and through and hopefully he will double the appearances he has already made," he said.
● Gloucester City have been handed a trip to Zamaretto Premier Division outfit Bashley in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday, September 26.

“Good luck to Tom Webb as the new captain. He really is GCAFC through and through and will hopefully wear the armband for the best part of a decade.”

“Big boots to fill. Wish Webby and Muzzie every success in their further roles within the club. They are not there because they are local, but it is heartening that they know and love the club as the supporters do.”
