Gloucester player ratings
MORGAN – 8
Outstanding again in defence and attack. Is there a better full-back in the English game at this moment?
BALSHAW – 7
Appears to be back to his best with his confidence running high. Unlucky not to score in the corner in the second half.
TINDALL – 9
Outstanding. Took the hard ball and made ground every time. Tackled well, led the line well, steadied the ship at important times.
BARKLEY – 7
Kicked his early goals well from difficult positions. Ran well, but missed the tackle that allowed Biarritz to score.
SIMPSON-DANIEL – 8
Did damage when he got the ball against a very strong defence. Showed once more he has true class. Did well to take his try.
LAMB – 7
Shaky early on but came through a tough game and showed he can cut it with the best.
COOPER – 7
Relished the quick ball from the line-out and got the line going well with excellent passing.
DICKINSON – 7
Held his own in the scrum and did well in the loose.
AZAM – 8
Finally turned into the player that we have always wanted to see. Excellent at the line-out, strong as always in the loose.
NIETO – 7
Considering he only just made the game due to injury, did very well.
BORTOLAMI – 7
Quiet, but credit must go to him, as well as Azam, for the line-outs.
BROWN – 7
Did very well at line-out, ran well.
BUXTON – 7
Thunderous running, cleared out well at ruck.
STROKOSCH – 7
Surprise inclusion over Andy Hazell, but he tackled strongly and did well at the breakdown.
NARRAWAY – 7
Another strong performance. Ran well and stole line-out ball.
REPLACEMENTS
Rory Lawson (Cooper 57) 7, Lesley Vainikolo (Barkley 73) 6. Replacements not used: Scott Lawson, Jack Forster, Adam Eustace, Andy Hazell, Willie Walker.

“Let`s be realistic. Every fan would wish that ALL players play to full potential. I haven`t been on anyones back but know enough to suggest that Lamb has been pretty dire this season. The new laws hardly help him as he is not a kicking 10 but he has to adapt which is what the coach hinted at, You pay your money and if you have any knowledge of the game are entitled to comment.”

“I think some Gloucester 'supporters' really need to lay off Ryan Lamb. To me, he appeared totally torn between following the game plan to the letter and actually playing instinctively. I don't think he had a particularly bad game at all, I think maybe his frustration played a big part on Saturday. Constant slating surely can't help his confidence at all. There seems to be a Gloucester hardcore now, that are picking on the likes of Lambie, Big Les and Rory Lawson. Perhaps if more support came from the supporters, these guys may then deliver big style.”
