Gloucester potter Wasley starts out on Crucible qualification mission
MICHAEL Wasley will get his World Snooker Championship qualification bid underway tomorrow when he faces 18-year-old Sean O'Sullivan in Sheffield.
The Gloucester potter must win four matches as he bids to make the Crucible finals for the first time.
Currently ranked number 79 in the world, Wasley gets his campaign underway at the English Institute of Sport against world number 91 O'Sullivan, from East London.
A win in the best-of-nine frame encounter will earn Wasley a second-round tie against the Thai-Phoon James Wattana, a winner of three ranking titles in a 24-year professional career.

The winner of that best-of-19 frame tie will face Churchdown's Jack Lisowski in the third qualifying round, with that match pencilled in to be played on Wednesday, April 10.
Lisowski, who defeated his good friend and sparring partner Judd Trump in last week's China Open will also be battling to make it to the Crucible for the first time in his professional career.
The winner of the third round tie will progress to a final qualifying round tie with former world number nine Fergal O'Brien, with the winner earning a place in the main draw.
Gloucester's Robert Milkins, who also enjoyed a superb result in China when he defeated four-time World Champion John Higgins, enters at the fourth-qualifying round stage.
The current world number 19 will play the final match of the qualification tournament on Sunday, April 14 – the day before the action gets underway at the Crucible.
The Milkman, is in a section of the draw that contains China's Tian Pengfei, world number 86 Martin O'Donnell, legend Jimmy White and Xiang Guodong.
White, a six-time loser in the Crucible final enters at the second round stage where he will face the winner of the first round tie between Pengfei and O'Donnell. World number 38 Xiag Guodong awaits the winner of the second round tie, with Milkins waiting in the fourth and final qualifying round.
