Phil Addle, secretary at Hardwicke Rangers, said: “The old cliche that there are no easy games rings true now. It is going to be tricky but people’s expectations of England are lower now so they can go out and impress.
“There’s a good mix of experience and youth in the team.
“You can’t get any more exciting than the football World Cup so it would have been a disaster if we didn’t get there.
“On the ground if we see England doing well it encourages a lot of young people to come to us wanting to play football which is obviously very good.”
With Brazil hosting the competition, the 6,000 mile trip has already put some fans off from travelling out there.
Massive Liverpool fan Barry Leach said: “Obviously you will get your usuals who will go regardless of where it is but for a lot of people it will prove too expensive.
“We are going to have a few tough games ahead of us but I am sure everyone will be relieved that we are through.
“Everything was hanging on the Poland game but in the end it was a great game. They had good attacking spirit.
“I hero worship Steveen Gerrard so for him to score a goal minutes before the end was icing on the cake.”
