Gloucester toddler upset after sledge theft
A two-year-old girl from Hucclecote has had her sledge stolen from outside her home.
Charlotte Brayshaw, from Fieldcote Drive, had been out playing in the homemade sledge for the first time last week, but when her family went to put it away, it had disappeared.
Charlotte’s grandmother Sue Wainwright said: “Last weekend we took her out in it for the first time, it was the first time she was really aware of the snow as she is only two years old.
“When we finished we propped it up on the side of the house by the window as it had been for a few days so we didn’t think anything of it but when we came back out, it was gone.
“It is just sad that we were at home, the car was in the drive and within 30 minutes it had disappeared, so someone must have come up to the house and taken it.”
Sue and her husband Tony said they had the sledge made by a friend for Charlotte’s mum Danielle, who is now 30.
“It was homemade for my children so it is well over 25 years old. It is very distinctive as it is red and yellow and it has a post office logo on it as it was made by a friend who worked for the post office.
“It is really sentimental and I just can’t believe someone would walk off with it.”
Anyone with information about the sledge can contact The Citizen newsdesk on 01452 420 621.

“I feel sad to read this story but not surprised. Why cant people just leave things alone? I'm so sorry Charlotte, this world is a very cruel place sometimes xxx”
